| The Phoenix
Central Neighborhood Association was created created in August
2008, by Alton J. Jones of central Phoenix; to begin a dialogue
with residents, property owners and those who hold a business license
within our geographical boundaries of Indian School and Thomas roads
and 7th Avenue and 3rd Street about business, crime, education,
entertainment, politics, sports and transportation issues happening
within our neighborhood. Our boundaries do not include the Park Central Neighborhood Association's geographical boundaries of Osborn Road to Earll Drive and 6th to 4th Avenues.

| BOARD OF DIRECTORS |
| Chairperson |
| Confers with board officials to plan objectives, to coordinate functions and operations between committees. Reviews activity reports and statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revises objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions. Serves as chairman of Web Content committee, may serve as chairman of additional committees, makes presentations before City of Phoenix officials and represents the association at events. Uses parliamentary procedures, treats everyone fairly, keeps the meeting moving and ensures that all items on the agenda are addressed. Uses Internet, email, personal computer and word processing software to assist in duty performance. |
| Vice Chairperson |
| Participates in planning objectives, coordinating functions and operations between committees. Reviews analyses of activities, operations, and objectives. Confers with Chairman and other board officials to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions. May serve as committee chairman. May perform duties of Chairman during absence. Uses Internet, email, personal computer and word processing software to assist in duty performance. |

| Keeps clear and accurate records of meetings, including the minutes of the meeting. Maintains the roster of members, stores a copy of the neighborhood plan and bylaws and handles correspondence. Uses Internet, email, personal computer and word processing software to assist in duty performance. |
| COMMITTEES |
| Crime Reduction |
| Works with the Police Department to educate residents about crime prevention. Helps organize Block Watch programs. Confers with Association officers to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions. Submits monthly status and development reports to association officers for presentation. |
| Neighborhood Development |
| Works with the city and nonprofit organizations on programs to encourage business development in the neighborhood. Confers with Association officers to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions. Submits monthly status and development reports to association officers for presentation. |
| Neighborhood Improvement |
|
Organizes neighborhood clean-ups. Works with the city on ordinance enforcement. Organizes tree plantings and landscaping projects. Confers with Association officers to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions. Submits monthly status and development reports to association officers for presentation. |
| Publicity |
| Inform people in the neighborhood of events and share information. Inform and remind members of meeting dates and locations, and provide transportation to those who may need it. Confers with Association officers to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions. Submits monthly status and development reports to association officers for presentation. |
| Web Content |
| Collects and analyzes content about newsworthy activities regarding Business, Crime, Education, Entertainment, Politics, Sports and Transportation relevant to the association’s boundaries for Blog and video publishing. Gathers and verifies factual information regarding story through interview, observation, and research. Obtains and maintains written approval from originating sources to copy and republish written and video content on committee Blog and video feed. Ensures originating sources are cited on Blog posts and video broadcasts. May shoot videos up to 10 minutes and 1024 MB to illustrate stories. May edit, or assist in editing, videos for broadcast. May appear on video clips when conducting taped or filmed interviews or narration. May post information to Blog and video feed for publishing. Submits monthly status and development reports to association officers for presentation. |
